Grouped Individual LTD (Benefit Tip © 2001)

Employers, with at least 20 employees, can stabilize the cost of their long-term disability insurance, increase the maximum monthly benefit and improve coverage by adding grouped individual disability insurance policies to their benefit package.

The most common approach is to provide everyone with a basic amount of coverage (between $2,000 and $7,500) and use the group long-term disability insurance to accommodate income fluctuations.

Individual policies are issued without medical evidence at a 30% price discount.
